Celestial Ann Blackman Keye, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her residence in Murrayville, Ga. after an extended illness. She was born on October 7, 1928 in Joaquin, TX to the late Grace (Martin) and Bergie Blackman.
Ann attended Joaquin High School before attending Clark College in Newton, Mississippi, Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss, Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe LA and Rice University in Houston, TX.
She taught elementary education, kindergarten through third grade in Houma, LA, Houston, TX., Galena Park, TX., College Park, GA., and Gainesville, GA.
Ann was a widow to Albert W. Keye, born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Keye of Hapeville, GA. There were married in 1969 and resided in Murrayville, GA where they were members of Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
Ann was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Blackman; four sisters, Geneva Fancheaux, Christine Holbrook, Tommie Jean Greer and Wanda Greer as well as four sisters-in-law, Gladys Millwood, Grace McKean, Louise Brackin, and Lois Hutchins; step children, Shirley Bragg, Bruce Keye; step grandson, Ricky Bragg; niece, Linda Greer and nephew, Stephen Blackman.
Ann is survived by one sister, Mary Gooch of Bridge City, TX; three step sons, Jerry Keye, Dennis Keye, Patrick Keye and 10 step grandchildren, in addition to a plethora of loving nieces, nephews and a number of other family members and friends.
Ann touched the hearts of everyone who ever knew her and she will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Buffington, Rev. Rex Fuller and Rev. Ricky Stone will officiate. Interment will be in Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
