Bret Brittingham

Bret Brittingham, age 96, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on December 29, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia.

Born on August 29, 1918, in Oatsville, Indiana, he was a son of the late Robert and Anna Hunt Brittingham. Prior to moving to Georgia, Mr. Brittingham was the owner and operator of Brittingham Heating and Plumbing and was also former Mayor of Oakland City, Indiana. He was also a chicken farmer who enjoyed bowling in his spare time, having bowled a perfect game. Mr. Brittingham was a member of the Demorest Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wives, Mildred Loveless Brittingham, Mary Stewart Brittingham and Caroline Lois Fitzsimmons Brittingham; son, Neil Brittingham; brothers, Ottis and Frank Brittingham; twin brother, Bert Brittingham; sister, Bernice Peed.

Survivors include daughters, Joyce Maier (David) of Rhinebeck, New York, Rebecca Ott (Calvin) of Francisco, Indiana, and Brenda Barringer of Albemarle, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Joyce Brittingham of Noblesville, Indiana; sister, Bertha Garrett of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Renee, Angela, Timothy, Tracy, Adenia, Chapin, Britni and Bailey; great grandchildren, Adam, Ethan, Emma, Justin, Samantha, Brittany, Tyler, Chloe and Cara Mae; great-great granddaughter, Ashlynn.

Memorial services will be held at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Demorest.
