Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Bertha Phillips Morris, age 98, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, December 27, 2014. Mrs. Morris was born in Jefferson, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Robert and Onie Elizabeth Williams Phillips, was a member of The Eastern Star, Walnut Fork Baptist Church and was a homemaker who enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from the garden of she and her late husband, M.S. Morris. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by: six brothers, and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her original family.
Survivors include her two sons and their wives: Mike and Ada Morris of Winder and Stanley and Janet Morris of Jefferson. Also, granddaughter; Amanda Hester and her husband Dale, two great grandchildren; Hayden and Addison Hester.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
