Lester Clifford (L.C.) Bailey

Home Going Services for Mr. Lester Clifford (L.C.) Bailey age 92 of Flowery Branch, Georgia will be held Thursday, January 1, 2015, 1:00pm at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 4000 Thurmond Tanner Road, Flowery Branch, Georgia. Rev. Dr. Emmerson Ross, pastor/officiating, Rev. Bobby H. Bailey, Eulogist.

Wake will be held at 12 noon (one hour prior to the service) at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Interment Mount Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. at Young's Funeral Home.

Mr. Lester Clifford (L.C.) Bailey was born June 29th, 1922 in Hall County GA to the late Mr. Tommie and Annie Winters Bailey. He departed this life Saturday, December 27th, 2014 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center after several years of declining health.

Mr. Bailey was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for many years, where he served on the Deacon board and taught the Adult Sunday School Class until his health began to fail.

Mr. Bailey was married to Mrs. Dorothy Nell (Nellie) Bailey for 41 years until her death on January 15th 1981. They were blessed with twelve children during their marriage. Mr. Bailey later married his current wife, Mrs. Hazel Camp Thompson.

Mr. Bailey was a brick/block layer by trade. He also bought and sold cattle and raised crops to provide for his family.

Mr. Bailey was proceeded in death by his parents (Mr. Tommie and Annie Bailey), his first wife (Mrs. Dorothy Nell Bailey), his eldest son (Mr. Willie Clifford Bailey), his youngest daughter (Ms. Amanda Bailey), all five of his brothers (Thomas, Nate, Arthur Lee, Archie and Joe) and four of his sisters (Angeline, Isabelle, Lorraine and Mamie).

He leaves to cherish his many memories his wife, Mrs. Hazel Camp Bailey, six daughters: Mrs. Ommie Nell Bailey-Allen, Mrs. Evelyn Harper, Mrs. Flora Cook, Mrs. Stella Bailey (all of Flowery Branch, GA) Ms. Annie Jo Bailey and Ms. Rena Bailey (both of Alexandria VA) three sons: Mr. Isiah Bailey and Mr. Stewart Bailey (both of Flowery Branch, GA) and Mr. Lester Bailey (of Greenville, S.C.). Two sisters: Ms. Shirley Stringer (of Flowery Branch, GA) and Mrs. Marion A. Twyman (of New Castle, DE), twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and ten great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
