Jack Johnston

R. Jack Johnston, age 87 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Johnston was born May 2, 1927 in Lanett, Alabama to the Late Rev. Ezra Grady and Eunice Nolen Johnston. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia where he was active in the men's ministry. He spent his lifetime in the printing industry and retired from the Viking Color Corporation with seven years' service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dean Mixon Johnston also of Cornelia; daughters and sons in law, Melinda J. and Michael Hudgens, Leslie J. and James C. Harmon; sons and daughters in law, Michael J. and Rita Johnston and Jeffrey and Tammy Johnston. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest, with Dr. Eric Spivey and Rev. David Turner officiating. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, at the funeral home
