Sallie Grace Overby Johnson

Sallie Grace Overby Johnson, age 95, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Winton L. Johnson; son-in-law, Eddie Wallace; parents, John and Mary Overby; twin sister, Emma Humphrey; sister, Runelle Wilson; and brothers, Waver Overby, Jake Overby and Scrap Overby.

She is survived by her children, Linda Johnson Wallace, Buford, GA and Larry and Elaine Johnson, Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Dana and Scott Beard, Kim and Jeremy Elliott, Kristy and Patrick Rogers and Keely and Brent Haley; great grandchildren, Nicholas Rogers, Jenna Haley, Ethan Haley, Linda Beth Johnson, Rodney Beard, Robby Beard and Copeland Elliott; sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Duncan, Lawrenceville, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend and caregiver to Sallie and Winton Johnson, Pam Jackson; and special neighbor, Lucille Bailey, Buford, GA.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 10, 1919 in Buford, GA. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Buford Church of God and attended Sugar Hill Baptist Church until she became a shut-in.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Pirkle officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
