L D Grizzle

L D Grizzle, age 83, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Friday December 19, 2014 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a period of declining health.

L D was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a ginseng farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

L D was the son of the late Duffie and Elsie Lingerfelt Grizzle and was also preceded in death by brothers, Fred Grizzle and Clyde Grizzle; and sister, Gwen Norrell.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Howard Grizzle; sons, Tim Grizzle and Mike Grizzle; brother and sister-in-law, Judd and Cunnie Grizzle; sisters, Maxie Garrett and her husband, Robert, Blonnie Summerour, Ostena Grizzle and her daughter, Tena; Mae Lee, and Dena Justus; granddaughter, Lela Garcia; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Mason, and Sophia; lifelong friend, Marion Kursh. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for L D are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Jason Fuller, Rev. Lyman Caldwell, and Rev. Ernest Fortner will officiate.

Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Saturday, December 20, 2014 3 PM until 9 PM and again on Sunday from 10 AM until time of service.
