Bernard Walter Lee

Bernard Walter Lee of Dahlonega passed away on December 6th, 2014.

Bernard Lee was a US Marine Veteran. He served during the battle of Iwo Jima in WWII. He was a high school math teacher and musician. Mr. Lee had a career in the oil industry working for Pure Oil and later The Union Oil Company. He later became an entrepreneur and owner and operated the oldest truck stop in America Speed and Briscoe and retired to Dahlonega in 1989.



Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, son, grandchildren and great grandchildren.



Family will receive friends on Tuesday December 9th, 2014 from 6 until 8pm. Funeral Service will be at Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel at 1pm on Wednesday December 10th, 2014. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.
