Mr. Dan David Medlin, age 89 of 85 Oak Grove Lane, Martin, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his residence.
A son of the late Leonard and Blanche Dover Medlin, he was born September 26, 1925 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, in the 89th Battalion of the U.S. Army Infantry having served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a business proprietor of City Billard Parlor in Toccoa and later retired from Austin Todd Heating and Air and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanelle Meeks Medlin, two brothers, Bob Medlin and Pope Medlin and by a sister, Irene Hart.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Larry Norris of Martin, Georgia; grandchildren, Matt and Stephanie Sharpe of Mt. Airy, Georgia and Mandi and Tim Ord of Toccoa, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Asher, Madison, Isaac, Ardis and Quinton; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Charles Shedd of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Emily Cash of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Doug Meeks and his wife Pat of Atlanta; number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 11 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. The family wishes to give thanks to patrons and friends of the Waffle House.
Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to Camp Toccoa at Currahee, Inc., 160 Alexander Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. Dan David Medlin.
