Azalee "Mimmie" Avery

Obituary Date: Saturday, December 6, 2014
Azalee "Mimmie" Avery, 94 of Oakwood passed away on December 6, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Steve Fenlon will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Avery was born on December 20, 1919 to the late William Henry Cordle and Lucille Broome Cordle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Sidney Long Avery, grandson, Trent Avery Smith, 7 bothers and 1 sister.
Mrs. Avery is survived by son and wife, Lamar and Sandra Avery, Oakwood, daughter and husband, Shirley and Ted Smith, Cornelia, grandson, Wynn Smith, Orlando, grandson and wife, Scott and Pam Avery, Oakwood, Granddaughter and husband, Kristi and Todd Jones, Oakwood, she is also survived by four very special great-grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Kelsi Jones, Sam Avery, and Sawyer Avery, sisters, Margaret Patterson, Edna Ford, and a number of nieces and nephews.
