David Bruce Thompson

David Bruce Thompson, age 60, of Monroe, GA, passed away, Friday, December 5, 2014 at his home following a period of declining health.

David was born in Wilmington, Ohio and grew up in Lumpkin County. He was a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late Joseph Bruce Thompson and Martha Olivia Helena Howard Davis.

David is survived by daughters and son-in-law; Tabatha Nicole Thompson, Monroe, GA, Kayla and David Autry, Statham, GA, Kristal Amanda Thompson, Monroe, GA, and Shannon "Sunshine" Craft, North Carolina; son John Wrenn Cook, North Carolina; brothers and sister-in-law, Michael Davis, Decatur, AL, Robert and Wilma Thompson, Kentucky; sisters and brothers-in-law, Michelle and Ronnie Sayne, Alto, GA, Elizabeth Thorne, Auburn, AL, Charlena and Doug George, Kentucky; grandchildren, Joshua Autry, Dominic Marcus, Dianna Craft, and Christopher Craft. 6 nieces, five nephews and numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for David are scheduled for 3 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Andy Gaddis will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Monday December 8, 2014 from 11 AM until 9 PM and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until 3 PM.
