Ruth (Boone) Westbrook

Mrs. Ruth (Boone) Westbrook, age 89, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Summer's Landing at Limestone.


Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville. Reverend Cliff Rigby, Dr. Roe Callaway, Dr. Jap Keith, Reverend Shon Peppers and Reverend Matt McGowan will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the Swetenburg Hall, at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Westbrook was born March 21, 1925 in Maysville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Leary Boone and Maude (Chambers) Boone. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and neighbor. She attended North Georgia College. She was a member of the Gainesville First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Elder and President of the Presbyterian Women. The family would like to acknowledge the Staff of Summer's Landing and Agape Hospice for their loving care. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh Charlie Westbrook; brothers, Joseph Boone and William Boone; and sister, Ethel Roberts.

Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Judy Westbrook of Gainesville; son David Westbrook of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and C.I. Babcock of Clearwater, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Frank Fleming of Athens, GA ; grandchildren, Michael and Mickie Westbrook of Gainesville; Jennifer Westbrook of Gainesville; Josh Babcock of Clearwater, FL, Chris and Kacy Babcock of Clearwater, FL; Laura and Anderson Baxley of Greenville, SC, Anna and Mark Coxwell of Opelika, AL; Nelson Fleming of Athens, GA; great-grandchildren, Kate, Ben and Blake Westbrook; Hays and Evie Mae Babcock and William Coxwell; sister-in-law and husband, Louise and Rev. Matt McGowan of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.
