Mary Francine "Fran" Thomas, age 69 of Pendergrass, GA , died December 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel. Interment 4:00 PM at Center Grove Baptist Church, Pendergrass, GA. Mrs. Thomas was born in Cocoa Beach, FL and was a homemaker, volunteer and advocate for her community. She was the first female County Commissioner of Jackson County, serving from January 1, 1993-December 31, 1996. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Thomas, sons Robin Thomas of Gainesville and Rodney Thomas of Pendergrass, grandchildren Justin Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Kelsey Thomas and Trae Murrell, sisters Maxine Nation and June Hubbard.
