Arnold Eugene 'Gene' Harris

Mr. Arnold Eugene "Gene" Harris, age 77 of 366 Pressley Road, Eastanollee, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 1, 2014.

A son of the late Boyd and Rena Harris, he was born June 9, 1937 in Gaffney, South Carolina. He has made his home in Toccoa for the last 54 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, worked for Vermont American for a number of years and was a member of Christ Fellowship. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Harris.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Shirley Cheek Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Roger Powell of Eastanollee; sons, Terry Eugene Harris, Sr. and Sandra Coker and Tony Harris and Susan Yates both of Toccoa; four grandsons, Dustin and Whitney Powell of Savannah, Georgia, Kevin Powell of Atlanta, Georgia, Terry Harris, I and Amy of Habersham County and Ben Harris of Toccoa; granddaughter, Shelby Harris of Habersham County; two great-grandsons, Landon and Mason Harris of Habersham County; brother-in-law and prayer partner, Tom Collins and wife Betty.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 3, 2 O'clock PM at Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Ray Bohannon officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Roger Powell, Terry Harris, Sr., Kevin Powell, Terry Harris, I, Ricky Cheek and Dustin Powell.

The family will be at the home on Pressley Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard. Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Arnold Eugene "Gene" Harris.
