Melton Melven Turpin, age 57, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Friday November 28, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Melton was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a truck driver with Heartland Express.
He was the son of the late Luther and Virginia Fuller Turpin.
Melton is survived by his wife Ruby Stanley Turpin, Dahlonega, GA; children, Thomas Turpin, Florida, Joshua and McKayla Turpin, Dahlonega, GA, Terry Stanley, Dahlonega, GA, Jake Stanley, Chatsworth, GA, Dwayne Stanley and Amber Bailey, Dahlonega, GA, Ariel and Chris Clark, Cleveland, GA, Regina Powell and Thomas Davis, Tellico Plains, TN; brothers, Eddie Turpin, Toccoa, GA, Lonnie Turpin, Dahlonega, GA, Roy Turpin, Dahlonega, GA, Everest Turpin, Clayton, GA, and J.T. Turpin, Braselton, GA; sisters, Barbara Miller, Gainesville, GA and Thelma Shook, South Carolina; grandchildren, Zoee Turpin, John Lyons, Rocky, Dylan, and Cody Gooch, Waylon Powell, Ronnie, Chassidy, Destiny, David, and Christopher Stanley, Sabrina Bruce and Haley Highfield; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ezra Gooch. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Melton are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. John Rayburn will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Community Chapel Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Sunday November 30, 2014 from 3 PM until 9 PM, all day on Monday, and again on Tuesday until time of service.
