John Ben Cartee, Jr.

John Ben Cartee, Jr., 83, of 4109 Hwy. 29 S., Colbert, GA passed away Wed., Nov. 26, 2014.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Mr. Cartee was the son of the late John Ben, Sr. and Lucretia Denson Cartee. Mr. Cartee was a US Navy Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a former Deputy Sheriff at the Oglethorpe County Sheriff's Department and retired from St. Mary's Hospital Safety and Security.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Harrison Cartee of the residence; four daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger (Keith) Hoehn, Ala., Patti (Kelvin) Wheless, Lexington, GA, Vicki (Gary) Adkins, Maxeys, GA, Kathi (Chuck) Davis, Stephens, GA; two brothers, Terry Cartee, Ninety-Six, SC, Ira Cartee; one sister, Dianne Tucker, Ninety-Six, SC; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm Fri., Nov. 28, 2014 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel, Danielsville with the Rev's. Chuck Tatum and Brett Mask officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 pm till the time of service at the funeral home.
