Grace Bales Mashburn

Grace Bales Mashburn, 91, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday November 22, 2014 at Gateway Healthcare following a period of declining health.
Born May 3, 1923 in Forsyth County to the late Claud and Etta Jane Tatum, she had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 33 years having moved from Alpharetta. Mrs. Mashburn was a homemaker and was an accomplished seamstress who also enjoyed camping and travel. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lee Bales and Lee Mashburn; son, Curtis Bales; sisters, Edna Thompson and Mildred Grimes.
Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Sue and Charles Cates, Dahlonega; daughter in law, Reneé Bales, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Charlie and Betty Tatum, Dawsonville; five granddaughters and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 25, 2014 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Michael Ridings and Rev. Dean Pugh will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
