Linda Catherine Griffin

Linda Catherine Griffin, 72, of Colbert, Georgia, passed from this life into Heaven on November 18th, 2014.




Linda was born in Marietta, GA on February 15th, 1942. She attended Marietta's Campbell High School and was married to Terrence W. Quigley of Green Bay, Wisconsin. They moved to Green Bay where their five children were born. But her adventurous family returned to Georgia in 1972, and then moved to Texas and Colorado. In 1986, Linda returned to her roots in Georgia. She has lived in Madison County for the past 28 years and was retired from the State Board of Pardons and Parole. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Clark E. Gulley, her mother, Edith L. Gulley, and her second husband, William R. Griffin.




Linda is survived by her children Cathy Tolbert (Dennis) of Comer, GA; Susan Quigley (Rene Simon) of San Rafael, CA; Andrea Deamley (Chris) of San Jose, Costa Rica; Dan Quigley (Nohra) of Lakewood, CO and Mary Quigley (James Arnold) of Baton Rouge, LA, and 11 beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by her six siblings, Gene Gulley, Deloras Kindley, Pam Johnson, Wanda Willis, Clark E. Gulley and Church Gulley and 15 nieces and nephews and their families.




Linda was beloved by all who crossed her path. With Linda, you were sure to be greeted with her excitement to see you and her genuine radiant smile; and you were lucky to share in her easy, infectious laughter. Linda loved to travel, especially with her sisters and daughters, and her passion was cultivating and showing off her garden and visiting with her large family. She also loved to sing and dance, passions she passed on to her children.




A celebration of her life will be held at Colbert First Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 11 o'clock am. Flowers are welcome, but if preferred donations may be made to the Loran Smith Cancer Center in Athens, GA. www.healthcare.org/loransmithcenter.
