Florence 'Tete' Vandergriff

Florence "Tete" Vandergriff, age 92, of Clarkesville, passed away on November 16, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born on February 24, 1922 in Clarkesville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Marion B. and Zelia Potts Ricketson. Mrs. Vandergriff was a member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was also an avid gardener who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing and being outdoors.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vandergriff was also preceded in death by her husband, George Benson "G.B." Vandergriff, Jr.; son, Ricky Vandergriff; brother, G.B. Ricketson.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, George M. and Linda F. Vandergriff of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Caron V. and J. Paul Clark of Athens; daughter-in-law, Denise Vandergriff of Clarkesville; grandchildren and spouses, Jeffrey and Amanda Vandergriff, Kari and Steven Farr, Jessica V. and Culley Gabrels, Dustin Vandergriff, and Angel and Joe Recor all of Clarkesville; great grandchildren, Kanzadee, Kamdyn and Dravyn Vandergriff, Amber Faith, Dillan and Tristan Farr, Brooke Loggins, Madison Gabrels, Jadyn and Katana Recor; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Steve McIntyre and Rev. Garvis Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday.
