Marion Louise Thornton Hosea

Mrs. Marion Louise Thornton Hosea, age 85 of 516 Highway 184, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin, Georgia.

A daughter of the late James and Mary Todd Thornton, she was born September 27, 1929 in Elbert County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She retired from Toccoa Housing Authority with some 30 years of service and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Hosea in 2003.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Roy Defoor of Toccoa; son, Irwin Hosea of New York, New York; two grandchildren, Charlie Hosea and Alexandra Hosea; three brothers, John Thornton, Edward Thornton and Clyde Thornton all of Elberton, Georgia; two sisters, Jane Nichols of Anderson, South Carolina and Brenda Rice of Elberton, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 15, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Roger Elrod officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jason Whitfield and Jerry Simmons.

The family will be at the home on Highway 184 and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Marion Louise Thornton Hosea.
