John Earnest Jones, Jr

John Earnest Jones, Jr., 79, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend David Gravitt will officiate.

Mr. Jones was born on July 24, 1935 in Lula to the late John Earnest Jones, Sr. and Lonnie Pauline Jones. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service and attended Hickory Flats Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stoy Jones, Kenneth Jones; sister, Laverne Beckham.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Shirley Margaret Jones of Gainesville; daughter, Lesley Rita Baldwin of Gainesville; grandson, Stoy Baldwin of Auburn; granddaughter, Heidi Baldwin of Lula; great granddaughter, Dylana Kent of Jefferson; great grandson, Blake Baldwin of Auburn; great granddaughter and great grandson Zoey and Nicholas Odem of Lula; sister, Robbie Yon and her family of Maryland.
