Mr. Paul L. Tweedell age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Gateway Health and Rehab Center, following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday November 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Reverend John W. Freeland and Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Tweedell was born on January 05, 1929 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late Louis Thomas Tweedell and Floy Johnson Tweedell. He was retired from the Hall County Clerk of Court Office where he worked for 33 years. He worked for Judge J.D. Smith and Judge Andy Fuller as Bailiff for 20 years, and was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Christopher Paul Tweedell, and his brother, L.T. Tweedell.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Thelma Wetherford Tweedell of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Dan Schertz of Pickens, SC, daughter, Kelly Tweedell of Toccoa, grandchildren, Alexander and Daniel Schertz, and brother, Robert A. Tweedell of Orange City, FL.
