Omazelle F. Carter

Omazelle F. Carter, age 85, of Gainesville, passed away on Monday Morning, November 10, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Steve Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 7 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carter was born August 21, 1929 in Lula, Georgia to the late Garland Forrester and Lilly Myers Forrester. She was a homemaker and a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. Omazelle was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Judy Carter Baker and her brothers, Huel Forrester and Verden Forrester.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Roy I. Carter of Gainesville, her sons & daughters-in-law, Tony & Tanya Carter of Oakwood and Stanley & Carol Carter of Flowery Branch, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister & brother-in-law, Velva & Preston Tribble of Lula, sister, Shelia Roberts of Kinston, North Carolina and brothers and sisters-in-law, Tex & Barbara Forrester of Gainesville, Emory & Joyce Forrester of Lula, Reverend Larry & Claudette Forrester of Lula and Jimmy & Rochelle Forrester of Lula.
