Marshall George Smith

Rev. Marshall George Smith, age 90, of Commerce, GA died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Serenity at Jefferson. He was born in Seneca, SC to the late Lowell and Ella Guntharp Smith. Rev. Smith was a member of Rogers Baptist Church and was a WWII Army veteran where he served in the European Theater of Operations. He was a retired Baptist minister. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Allen Smith and second wife, Irene Phillips Whitehead Smith.

Rev. Smith is survived by his daughter, Janet Williams of Commerce; son, Larry Smith of Seneca, SC; sisters, Ruth Kelly of Walhalla, SC and Mary Ann Rankin of Seneca; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM, Monday, November 10 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Payne and Rev. Billy Owensby officiating. Interment will follow in Oconee Memorial Gardens, Seneca, SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
