Mrs. Karen Lynn Maxwell Smith, age 55 of 4347 Thomas Drive, Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida.
A daughter of the late James Pate and Mildred Henderson Maxwell, she was born May 5, 1959 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Jonesboro, Georgia. She was employed in sales with Stephenson Chemical Company in College Park, Georgia and was a member of Christ Fellowship. While living in Toccoa, she was nanny for twin girls for a number of years.
Survivors include her husband of the home, Ronnie Smith; daughter, Millissa Pope of the home; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Jo Frank Stewart and Anne and Lee Stowe both of Toccoa and Linda Bennett of Gainesville, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Pate and Bonnie Maxwell of Toccoa; grandson, Connor Lee Pope; half sisters, Marie Carter of Toccoa and Fay Minyard of Cobb County, Georgia; two half brothers, B.Q. Maxwell of Powder Springs, Georgia and John Terrell Maxwell of Tampa, Florida.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 5, 11 O'clock AM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Mr. Kevin Barrett officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jerry Ward, Cary Bennett, Lee Stowe, Eric Karlson, Gary Minyard, Stanley Thomason, Jamie Scott and Chance Franklin.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stowe, 418 Mt. View Circle, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Interment will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Karen Lynn Maxwell Smith.
