Grace Wilson

Grace Wilson age 95 of the War hill community in Dawsonville died Sunday Nov. 2, 2014 in Gainesville, Ga.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday Nov. 4, 2014 in the Little-Davenport Chapel, the Rev. Melvin Reynolds, Rev. Dennis Bottoms and the Rev. James Ransom will officiate, interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday Nov. 3, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.

Mrs. Wilson was born May 9, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late Arthur and Annie Porter Nix. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Wilson Grocery and Gas in Dawsonville for many years; she also was a writer for the Gainesville Times responsible for the War hill News column. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, always teaching her family as a good Christian mother should and never wavering. She was a friend to many, always willing to help out and you never left her house empty handed. She was also well known for her sewing, crafts and especially her quilts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband - Jodie Wilson and a granddaughter - Lori Ann Waters.

Survivors include - son - C. Loyal Wilson of Dawsonville

Daughter - Melvaree Edmonds of Gainesville

Sister and brother in law - Floistine and Lester Duncan also of Gainesville grandchildren - Gail Byers, Jeff Edmonds and Chance Wilson

4 Great grandchildren - Hannah Reynolds, Chelsie Edmonds, Will Edmonds and Tara Edmonds

2 Great great grandchildren - Gabriel Reynolds and Bentley Allison
