Doris Ruth Bennett Jordan

Mrs. Doris Ruth Bennett Jordan, age 82 of 118 Jerry's Trail, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the home of her daughter.

A daughter of the late Mack William and Daisy Willena Bennett, she was born October 19, 1932 in Knoxville, Tennessee having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She retired from Coats America with a number of years of service and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bunyan Jordan in 2004 and by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Jordan and Connie and Jerry Shirley both of Toccoa; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Spencer of Oregon; number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 31, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend John Umberhant officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Shawn Westmoreland, Sid Heaton, Seth Hawkins, Caleb Shirley, Dalton Thomas, Dylan Thomas and Cameron Shirley.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Shirley, 140 Jerry's Trail, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Doris Ruth Bennett Jordan.
