Fred W. Turner

Fred W. Turner, age 76, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014 following a period of declining health.

Mr. Turner was born in Sparks, GA, but had spent the past 16 years in Lumpkin County after spending some time in Rome, GA. He retired as a carpenter, and was a loving, devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend.

The son of the late Wiley and Birtie Brown Turner, Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Annie Jo Turner, who died earlier this year; and by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by caregivers and special friends, Virgil and Tammy Sisk, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Myrtle Turner, Ashburn, GA; sisters-in-law, Runette Stevens, Fort Valley, GA, and Luel Turner, Lakeland, FL; nephews, Coy Turner, Macon, GA, and Mike Turner, Fort Valley, GA; nieces, Gayle Killian, St. Simonds Island, GA, Patsy Hooper, Ashburn, GA, and Sharon Venzon of Illinois.

A memorial service for Fred is scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. JR Fields will officiate.
