Curtis Dean Powell

Mr. Curtis Dean Powell, age 55, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A son of Lois Hill Campos and the late Leon Powell, he was born November 18, 1958, Stephens County having lived most of his life in Rockdale County and Habersham County. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was employed a number of years in the construction industry and an avid guitar player. He was a member of the Chattahoochee Baptist Church in Cleveland, GA.

Survivors include his mother and step-father Lois Hill and Olegario Campos of Conyers, GA; two sons Gregory Powell of Dawsonville, Georgia and Christopher Powell Cooper of Douglasville, GA; a brother David Powell of Marietta, GA; two sistera Denise Coleman of Cornelia, GA Dolores Campos McAdams of Covington, GA;Five Grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, at the Chattahoochee Baptist Church with the Reverend Chris Anderson officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chris Powell, Roger Powell, Jonathan Powell, Alan Loper, Johnny Carson, and Gary Stevens.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be in the Chattahoochee Baptist Church Cemetery. Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Dean Powell.
