Barbara Montgomery Thornhill, age 79, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Rev. Harold G. Thornhill; parents, Tom and Annie Lee Montgomery; and sister, Sue Montgomery Harris. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and Anthony Duncan, Flowery Branch, GA; grandson, Blake Duncan, Flowery Branch, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Rex Tucker, Buford, GA; brother and sister-in-law, J. W. and Gail Montgomery, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Thornhill was born January 28, 1935 in Winder, GA. She was a 1953 graduate of Sugar Hill School. She was a homemaker and a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Buford, GA. She enjoyed painting, flowers, traveling and camping. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hutchins, Rev. Philip Robinson, and Rev. Blake Duncan officiating.
Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford, GA, with Rev. Jerry Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
