Thomas Henry Payne, age 63, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred T. Payne. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lucille M. "Kitty" and Edward Teague, Buford, GA; sister and brother in law, Linda (Sissy) and Bob Cleary, Buford, GA; niece, Jennifer Cleary, Atlanta, GA; nephews, Joel and Melissa Whitt, Buford, GA, John and Abbey Cleary, Charlotte, NC, and James and Sarah Cleary, Athens, GA; great nieces, Megan Whitt and Carley Whitt; great nephew, Connor Cleary. Mr. Payne was born May 14, 1951 in El Paso, TX. He was a 1969 graduate of Central Gwinnett High School and graduated from Southern Technical Institute in 1975 with a bachelor's degree. He was an architect with Texaco for over twenty-five years and worked for a number of years at Hayes, James & Associates in Lawrenceville, GA. He attended the Grace Arbor Respite Program of First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, GA. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Robin Dill, Director of Grace Arbor, officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, 5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, GA 30518. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 24, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Arbor, P. O. Box 2127, Lawrenceville, GA 30052, in memory of Thomas H. Payne.
