JC 'Boss' Moss

JC "Boss" Moss, age 89, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday, October 19, 2014 following a period of declining health.

JC was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a member of Nimblewill Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. He retired from Standard Telephone Company after 43 years of service, was a member of Blue Mountain Lodge # 38 F & AM in Dahlonega, GA for 55 years, and served his country in the United States Navy.

The son of the late Bill and Ida Moss, JC was the last surviving child, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Edmondson Moss.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Nicky and Jean Moss; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bob Hunsinger; special niece, Renee Matteson; grandchildren, Jody and Debbie Weaver, Dana and Mike Turner, Jamie and Jennifer Moss; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Emma Turner, A.J., Zachary, and Levi Moss; and sister-in-law, Nina Moss, all of Dahlonega. A number of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for JC are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Kris Butler will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Nimblewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 6 PM until 8 PM on Monday, October 20, 2014, all day on Tuesday, October 21, and on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 until service time.
