Violet Gertrude Pittman

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Violet Gertrude Pittman, age
92 formerly of Murrayville. Mrs. Pittman passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. Funeral services
are scheduled for 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike
Gaines and Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Murrayville Congregational
Holiness Church Cemetery. Mrs. Pittman was born on April 15, 1922 in Tellico Plains, Tennessee
to the late Richard Roberts and Mable Walker Roberts. She was a homemaker and was a member
of Assembly of God Tabernacle. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Garfield Garrett, Paul
Vandergriff and Bud Pittman as well as her great granddaughter, Emaleigh Devaney, brothers,
Clyde Roberts, Blake Roberts, Norman Roberts and Dicky Roberts and sisters, Mary Jo Roberts
and Dolly Dimple Roberts.
Survivors include her sons James Garrett (Yvonne ) Murphy, N.C., Robert Garrett
( Carolyn)Lula, John Garrett, John Garrett (Pat) Braselton, Billy Vandergriff, Cumming
and James Vandergriff of Dawsonville; daughters,Carol Devaney (Bill), Marietta and Linda
Brown(Dennis) of Buford; sisters, Louella Farmer of Clinton, Tennessee and Clara Sigmond
of Ponte Vedra, Florida. Mrs Pittman is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 18 great
grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren
