James "Jimmy" Edwin Crow
Obituary Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2014
James "Jimmy" Edwin Crow, age 88 of Flowery Branch, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 following a brief illness at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Celebration of his life service is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with a Masonic Graveside Service to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Paul Wade and Reverend Boone Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Crow was born September 8, 1926 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late George B. Crow and Leona Cain Crow. He served in the U. S. Navy and retired from General Motors. After retirement Jimmy worked at Mooney Manufacturing Company and was a member of Flowery Branch Masonic Lodge #212, where he was a Master Mason for 64 years. He received two awards from the Masonic Lodge, for 50 and 60 years of service. Jimmy was a member of First Baptist Church of Flowery Branch and was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harry Crow and Frank Crow, his sister, Dorothy Hudlow and his brothers-in-law, Ben Williamson and Charles Thornhill.
Mr. Crow is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Margie Crow of Flowery Branch, his son, Jerry Crow of Flowery Branch, his daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Larry Gilleland of Gainesville, his granddaughter, LeAnne Gilleland of Gainesville and her beloved dog "Bailey", his sister, Evelyn Nix of Gainesville, sisters-in-law, Marlene Williamson of Flowery Branch and Mary Thornhill of Lilburn and a number of nieces and nephews. LeAnne and Bailey were the light of his life and the love of his heart.
