Conley Watson Lunsford

Conley Watson Lunsford, age 87, of Suches, GA, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a brief illness.

Conley was a native and lifelong resident of Suches, GA. He was a man of many talents. He was a farmer, excellent carpenter and automotive mechanic. Conley lived an honorable life as a devoted husband and father. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant (Hill) Baptist Church in Suches.

He was the son of the late Boss Lunsford and Mamie Gooch Lunsford and was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dot Lunsford who passed away on September 16, 2014; daughter, Kathy Grizzle; granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Rainwater; and sister, Alva Watkins.

Conley is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Vickie Lunsford, Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Gail Fisher, Gainesville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Gladys Lunsford, Suches, GA; sisters, Mertre Bramlett, Suches, GA, Marie Fortenberry, Marietta, GA, and Margie Edge, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Kristin Rainwater and Eric Craft. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Conley are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Rudy Tribble , Rev. Paul Tritt and Howard Whelchel will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant (Hill) Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5 PM until 8 PM and again on Friday until service time.
