Christopher Ray Whitworth

Mr. Christopher Ray Whitworth, age 59 of 113 Forest Avenue, Apt. 101, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.

A son of the late Marvin and Vernell Turner Whitworth, he was born August 1, 1955 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived a greater part of his life. He was employed with Fieldale for some 30 years, was a member of Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church, served as Choir Director at several churches and sang with Greater Hope Gospel Group for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Frieda Holbrook Whitworth; two daughters and son-in-law, Brooke Whitworth of the home and Nikki and Avery McIntyre of Toccoa; grandson, Draven Sawall; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Kaye Whitworth of Gainesville, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Wayne Smith of Martin, Georgia; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Holbrook of Clarkesville, Georgia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mitch and Wyndee Holbrook; niece, Candace Brown and her husband, Joel; nephew, Lane Holbrook; one great niece and two great nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 16, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Butch Franklin and the Reverend Mitchell Holbrook officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Keith Whitworth, Johnny Whitworth, Terry Whitworth, Wayne Smith, Avery McIntyre and Joel Brown.

The family will be at the home on Forest Avenue and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Christopher Ray Whitworth.
