Donald H. "Don" Murphy, age 94, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Geraldine Murphy; and sons, Michael Murphy and Donnie Murphy. He is survived by his son, Patrick Murphy, Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Paul Francis, Urbana, MD; granddaughters, Shelby Francis, Tuscaloosa, AL and Carly Francis, Tallahassee, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruth Murphy, Lewisville, TX; beloved nephews, Dennis and Joann Murphy, Cleveland, OH, Ted and Elaine Murphy, Lewisville, TX, Dennis and Bambi Murphy, Fairfax, VA, Robert and Esther Murphy, Broken Arrow, OK and Butch Murphy, Cleveland, OH. Mr. Murphy was born January 24, 1920 in Cleveland, OH. He was a 1938 graduate of East Tech High School in Cleveland, OH and attended Case Western. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127. He was retired manager from AT&T in Atlanta, GA after forty-two years of service. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA. He was an avid golfer. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Eric Hill serving as Celebrant. Private family interment will be at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service in the Chapel at 7:30 p.m.
