Edna Grace Burruss Collins Gillespie

Mrs. Edna Grace Burruss Collins Gillespie, age 91, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at her residence.


Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Yonah Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery in Lula. Reverend Lamar Purcell and Reverend Joey Pritchett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gillespie was born April 20, 1923 in Cumming, Georgia, the daughter of the late Major Burruss and Irene (Banister) Burruss. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harris Collins and Dan Gillespie; and her sister, Annie Doris Burruss.

Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lisa Gillespie; daughter, Iris Collins Morrison; grandson, Jimmy Segars of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Tammi and Jim Johnson, Cleveland; granddaughter and husband, Tiffani and Blake Thomas of Lula; grandson, Evan Gillespie of Gainesville; and granddaughter and husband, Nichole and Ronnie Blalock of McDonough; great-grandchildren, Jayce, Jared, Jake, Trevor, Tylor, Mikey, Hayden and Landen; brother and sisters, Bobby Burruss of Cumming; Betty Lester of Decatur and Hazel Burruss of Gainesville.
