Blattice Sisk English

Blattice Sisk English, Age 98, of Homer, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
Mrs. English was born September 24, 1916 Homer, Georgia to the late Henry and Minnie Laura Moss Sisk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Woody English; brothers, Laymon, Auburn, William, Mack, Cecil, Seaborn, and Ted Sisk; sister, Eunice Cotton; son in law, Ulysess Caudell; and four grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Chico, California. Mrs. English was retired from Grady Garment Company.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Randall Holbrooks; sons and daughters in law, Ralph and Kathy English of Homer, Wayne and Maevrie English of Demorest, Lamar and Robin English of Homer; brothers Eugene Sisk of McCloud, California, Laverne Sisk of Marietta, Ga; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord and her family. She was a great cook and excellent seamstress. She loved having a garden and enjoyed working with her flowers. A fond memory of her children is how she loved to sing hymns and whistle while she worked.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Todd and Rev. Johnny Stone officiating. Interment will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
