Marie Crane Harris

Marie Crane Harris, age 65 of Gainesville died peacefully during the morning of Friday, September 26, 2014. She was at home in Gainesville and surrounded by her husband, Giancarlo Grappiolo and her two children, Edward E Wilson III (Trey) of Gainesville, and Lynn Wiggs of Englewood, FL.



Marie was sixty-five years old, born in Athens, GA, raised in Gainesville and was the daughter of Mary Virginia and Richard Harris of Gainesville. Marsha Meadows of Highlands, NC was her "big sis".



Marie had two grandchildren, Shelley Postell and Jacob Barone-Wiggs and two great granddaughters, Alice and Aubrey Postell, all of Englewood Florida.



Marie had at least one, if not several, loving cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, son in law, stepson, grandson in law, and brother in law in Gainesville and elsewhere,



Marie inherited the travel bug from her parents, loved to travel and held dual citizenship with Italy. She and Giancarlo spent much of their time travelling in Europe and enjoyed spending time at their home in Rapallo. Marie and Giancarlo were great hosts and a chance to be their guests in Italy or Gainesville was a hot ticket and greatly sought after.



High on the list of those loved by Marie was Roxanne, Marie and Giancarlo's loving and faithful Maltese.



In lieu of flowers the family requests that Marie be honored by a memorial gift in her name to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.



A Celebration of Marie's life will be held at Peachtree Farm, beginning at Noon, Saturday, October 4th



We will all miss Marie's humor, smile, love of life and those gorgeous blue eyes.
