Ruby Lee Nix

Mrs. Ruby Lee Nix age 97 of Cleveland passed away Sunday September 28, 2014 at Northeast Ga Medical Center.

Mrs. Nix was born in Dahlonega, Georgia the daughter of the late Millard and Elizabeth Nix Etris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie F. Nix , granddaughter, Amanda Cantrell and three brothers .Mrs. Nix was a homemaker and member of Town Creek Baptist Church for 87 years. She celebrated 71 years with her husband, Charlie before his death in 2002.

Ruby, Mama Nix was a devoted wife, mother and church member. After raising her own children she and Charlie welcomed foster children, grandchildren and great grandchildren into their home. She was a wonderful homemaker. Ruby cooked for anyone who walked through her door. She sewed countless dresses, shirts, skirts and shorts over the decades. If everyone was fed and clothed, she was happy. She loved to grow plants especially irises and lilies. Every fiber of her being was made by God to nurture everyone around her. Her entire family has been blessed through her love and faithfulness.

Survivors include her son, Stanley Nix, Cleveland; daughters, Evelyn Cantrell, Mary Shoffeitt, both of Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Fanchion and James Turner, Janet and Clifford Cox, Brinda and Walter Reid, all of Cleveland;

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday September 30, 2014 at Town Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Phillip Robinson and Rev. Casey Robinson will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
