Addie C. West Smith

Addie C. West Smith, age 81, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014.

She was born and raised in Canton, NC, and had spent the past 25 years in Lumpkin County. She was a homemaker and a great "Mama" and "Memaw." She was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church in Canton, NC.

Addie was the daughter of the late Gaston and Ruthie Parham West, and is also preceded in death by her husband, George Vernon Smith; and brothers, Nathan West, Jess West, and James West.

Mrs. Smith is survived her sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Debbie Smith, Lee and Rita Smith, all of Dahlonega, GA; daughters, Martha Boling, Gainesville, GA, Susan Smith, Murrayville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Gene Murphy, Pendergrass, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ned and Linda West; sister, Maggie Cressman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and Bruce Thomas, and Audrey and David Scott, all of Canton, NC. 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Addie are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Tony Howard, Rev. Ronnie Fuller, and Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 5 PM until 9 PM on Monday, September 29, 2014, and from 9 AM until time of service on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
