Evelyn M. Lord

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Evelyn McConnell Lord age 87 of Gainesville. The Rev. James Hatcher and Rev. Wayne Majors will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lord passed away Sunday morning September 21, 2014 following an extended illness.



Mrs. Lord was born July 22, 1927 in Madison County, Georgia to the late Luther M. McConnell and Etta Jane Hill McConnell of Commerce, GA. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.



Survivors include, Husband Rev. Lewis P. Lord, Gainesville, Son and Daughter-in-Law, Luther M. and Pam Kenny Lord, Gainesville, Sons, Philip Lewis Lord, Gainesville, Terry P. Lord, Gainesville, Granddaughter, Julie Allison Lord, Grandson, Timothy Lord and several nephews and other relatives.



The family wishes to express their gratitude to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice nurses, aids and other staff for their loving care of Evelyn.
