She enjoyed ballroom dancing and going on cruises. She also enjoyed working on various crafts and writing poetry. Her favorite poetry was predominately regarding her canine friends; however, her most enjoyable poem was about a real-life experience of seeing a green bean TREE.

Poem:
"The Green Bean Tree"

Did you ever think you would see
a real live green bean TREE.

With leaves that go to bed each night
and close their leaves good and tight.

To wake in the morning and open their leaves
and feel the warm sun and cool gentle breeze.

The beans on the tree have peas in their pod
and we know this is a plan made by God,
for bean trees to grow and be six feet tall
so the green bean tree can be seen by all.

She was an active member of Midway United Methodist Church and Ambassador Sunday School Class.
