Gene Tomanek

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Gene Tomanek, age 73 of Cleveland. Mr. Tomanek passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014.
Gene was born on November 8, 1940 in Avon Lake, Ohio to the late Frank Tomanek and Marie Wagasky Tomanek. He served with honor in the United States Air Force and had lived in MIchigan for most of his life. Gene worked for the Ford Motor Company for some 25 plus years in Michigan where he served as a purchasing supervisor. In 2000, Gene moved to Clarkesville, where he was an active member of the Clarkesville Presbyterian Church.

In addtion to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Tomanek and step brother, James Smelser
Survivors include his wife, Eva Tomanek, Clarkesville; step mother, Joyce Tomanek, Clarkesville; sons, Steven Tomanek of Florida, Jeffery Tomanek (Jean) McComb, MI.; brother, James Tomanek (Pam), Michigan; step brothers,Steven Smelser (Susan) Powder Springs, GA; step sister, Laura Weiss, Temple, GA. as well as 2 grandchildren
It was Gene's request that he be cremated and that no public or formal services be held
