Janie Gerrells Jarrard-Bailey

Janie Gerrells Jarrard-Bailey, age 97, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

Janie was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, and a member of Siloam Baptist Church. She worked many years at Riverview Elementary and Lumpkin County Middle School cafeterias. Janie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to all who knew her.

She was the daughter of the late W.S., Sr. and Callie Allison Gerrells, and is also preceded in death by her husband Albert "Slim" Jarrard; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Mildred Jarrard; daughter-in-laws, Mary Nell Jarrard, Chris Jarrard; sisters, Dola Burke, Lola Burke, Cora Freeland; brothers, Hoyt Gerrells, Henry Gerrells, Billy Gerrells, W.S. Gerrells, Jr., and Joe Gerrells.

Janie is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James Jarrard, Harold Jarrard, Carl and Era Jarrard; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Loy Saine; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry. Sr. and Valorie Jarrard; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Head, Sue and C.L. Grizzle, Anne and Wayne Grizzle, all of Dahlonega, GA; sisters, Bell Miller, Conyers, GA, Lou Hanson, Gainesville, GA, Mary Palmer, Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Stacy Jarrard, Jerry Jarrard, Jr., Heather Popham, Joel Saine, Jeff Saine, Danny Jarrard, Carol Jarrard, Anthony Jarrard, Matthew Jarrard, Kim Thomas, Rachel Seabolt, Jennifer Turner, Melissa Priddy, Tracy Gaddis, Kenneth Jarrard, Dennis Keith Jarrard, Diane Ray, Tammy Jarrard; great grandchildren, McKenzie Jarrard, Colt Jarrard, Teddy Jarrard, Gunner Jarrard, Brittany Phillips, Mason Popham, Loghan Popham, Landon Popham, Josh Saine, Anna Saine, Kelly Saine, Carson Thomas, Emily Thomas, Dustin Jarrard, Amy Lovell, Kaylee Seabolt, Levi Seabolt, Brayden Turner, Emma Grace Turner, Kevin Ray, Kelly Ray, Kyle Ray, Alex Grier, Katie Grier, Jackson Grier, Brennen Gaddis, Callie Priddy, Oliver Priddy, Finley Priddy, Kimberly Jarrard, Michelle Jarrard, Katie Jarrard, Keith Jarrard and 4 great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Janie are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Siloam Baptist Church in Lumpkin County, GA.

Rev. Tony Allison and Rev. Stephen Gerrells will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega from 3 PM until 9 PM on Friday, September 19, 2014; and from 9 AM until time of service on Saturday 20, 2014.
