Anne Allred Bethea

Anne Allred Bethea, age 85, of Canton, GA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 14, 2014. She was born in Collins, MS, January 11, 1929 to the late Dr. Dewitt Talmadge Allred and Velma Watkins Allred. Her son, George Harvey Bethea, Jr; brother, Dewitt Talmadge Allred, Jr; and sister, Doris Allred Bane also preceded her in death.
Anne graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, later earning a Master's Degree at Georgia State University. She was an inspired, loving and dedicated First Grade Teacher.


Anne raised two beautiful children, Molly Isobel Bethea and George Harvey Bethea Jr. She nurtured three loving granddaughters as her own, Marianna Baratz Popp, Teresa Baratz Gale, and Nalina Rose Baratz. She lived to meet her three great grandchildren, Andrew Popp, Christian John Gale, and Emma Grace Gale. Anne was the family's matriarch and cornerstone whose wit and charm was matched only by her unconditional support and enormous heart.
Anne was a beautiful, charismatic, intelligent woman who will be missed dearly. The grace with which she embraced life will live on in the memory of all those who have been blessed by having known her.
Anne's graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at Collins Cemetery in Collins, MS Saturday, September 20, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 27 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, GA.
