Lou Rose Powell

Lou Rose Powell, age 80 of 237 Yearwood Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Oaks at Scenic View, Baldwin, Georgia.

A daughter of the late General and Mary Lucille Harmon Powell, she was born September 24, 1933 in Pickens, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Susie Bohannon and Mary Helen Geter and by a brother, Jack Harmon.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Kenneth Collins of Toccoa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 18, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Ray Bohannon officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Randy Collins, Jerry Collins, Rick Collins, Tim Collins, Jerry Garner and Sam Collins.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Collins, 267 Yearwood Street, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Church, 306 E. Franklin Street, Toccoa, Georgia in memory of Lou Rose Powell.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Lou Rose Powell.
