William 'Dean' Hulsey

SMSgt. William "Dean" Hulsey, U.S.A.F. (Ret.), 88, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday September 11, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born September 7, 1926 to the late Jess and Alma Hulsey, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A World War II and Cold War veteran, Mr. Hulsey retired as a Senior Master Sergeant (E8) from the U.S. Air force after serving for over 21 years. After his military service he also worked for the Georgia Department of Revenue and the Dawson County Board of Education. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mary Hulsey, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Dan and Judith Hulsey, Virginia; grandchildren, Sarah Hulsey, Geoffrey and Flavia Hulsey; great grandson, Drake; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday September 16, 2014 at 3 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stephen Gerrells will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour on Tuesday.
