Billy Gene Wilson

Billy Gene Wilson, age 82 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Matt Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilson was born Jasper, Alabama to the late William Wilson and Viva McCullar Wilson. He was retired from N. G. Gilbert and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Melva Jackson Wilson, his daughter, Teresa Mason and his son, Steve Wilson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his daughter, Sherry Wilson of Gainesville, his sons & daughters-in-law, Mike "Moonpie" & Donna Wilson of Gainesville and Gary "Harry" & Kim Wilson of Oakwood, daughter-in-law, Teresa Wilson of Gainesville, brothers & sisters, Mavis, Ida, Robert, Inez, Janice, Marlene, Johnny, Glenn and Ann, grandchildren, Todd & Missy Wilson, Melissa & Justin Wiedme nmn, Elizabeth & Sean Totten, Matt & Leigh Wilson, Josh & Diannah Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Max Wilson and Jacob Wilson and great-grandchildren, Cole, Mara, Kinsey, Gabriel, Asher, Deacon, Halle and Judson.
